 Ola High School Girls’ Cross Country Team Secures Historic Victory at Henry County Championship The Ola High School girls’ cross country team made a remarkable start to the championship season with a first-place team victory at the Henry County 5km Cross Country Championship on Saturday, October 5, 2024. This win marks the school’s first county title in over a decade, an achievement made even more impressive by the athletes’ personal best performances and collective team effort. The team, coached by Nigeria’s former National Record holder Gbolahan Fatuga (United Unattached Athletics), in collaboration with Coach Andrews from Ola High School, delivered outstanding individual performances. Leading the charge was Suri Lawrence, who finished in 3rd place with a time of 21:47, shaving 8 seconds off her previous personal record (PR) and securing a spot on the 1st Team All-County.
