 Former Olympic Champion Appointed to Lead Saudi Arabia's Athletics Development


In a move aimed at boosting the country's athletic prowess, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has appointed the 2 x Olympic medalist Enefiok Udo-Obong as Technical Advisor to its Athletics Development Programme. 


The announcement was met with widespread celebration from the Lagos State Athletics Association, friends, family, and media.


Udo-Obong, a two 2 national champion and coach, boasts an impressive track record. He won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and bronze at the 2004 Athens Olympics, cementing his status as a legend in the world of athletics. With a wealth of experience in global athletics, he is well-equipped to lead Saudi Arabia's efforts to develop its athletic programs.


In his new role, Udo-Obong will leverage his expertise to chart a new course for Saudi Arabian athletics. His appointment is seen as a significant step forward for the country's sports development, as it seeks to nurture talented athletes and host international sporting events.

 Day 2, Nigerian athletes shine at the NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships The NCAA track and field championship hosted by the University of Oregon's Hayward Field from June 5th to 8th, has seen Nigerian athletes perform. On the first day, some of the Nigerians who did well included; Ashe Favour, Godson Brume, and Ajayi Kanyinsola qualified for the men's 100m finals.
